$100K can’t buy you much in Canada these days. It might not even cover the down payment on a condo in some cities like Vancouver or Toronto. But overseas, that budget can unlock condos, houses, and even beachside properties.
Here are Blueprint, due to the ever-lasting housing crisis in Canada, we work with many Canadians who want to stretch their money further by moving abroad, and the results can be life-changing.
I call this the “lifestyle country multiplier,” and it shows how much further your money can stretch once you look beyond Canada. Today, I’ll walk you through real properties you could buy right now, and some of them will make you rethink what’s possible.
Canada
Let’s take a look at Canada, so we have a good benchmark.
You can almost buy a parking lot in Toronto for $100,000 CAD, you would just need 40K more. It even comes with EV plug-ins — so if you had an electric car, maybe you could just sleep in it. Cheaper than renting downtown, right?
For $99,900 CAD you can snag the 2026 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS — basically a condo on wheels. King bed, triple slides, and even a ceiling fan. It’s fancier than many shoebox Toronto apartments, and bonus: you can park your mansion at Walmart.
Fifteen acres, a small house, and absolutely no neighbours. It looks like the perfect property to own if you’re a fugitive on the run and needed to disappear. You could raise chickens, grow potatoes, and no one would ever find you.
Actually a pretty decent house — three bedrooms, fenced yard, move-in ready. But it’s in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. But maybe the weather is nice there?
Oh no… winter lasts about nine months. You’ll save money, but you’ll freeze.
Ok, not many glamorous options in Canada for 100K. Let’s see what the rest of the world has to offer.
Belize
For USD $75,000 (just above that 100K CAD), you can own a two-bedroom, one-bath concrete home in Hopeville, just outside Punta Gorda in southern Belize. The house is small at 520 square feet, but it sits on a large 5,700-square-foot lot with space to expand.
The best part is the location — a short walk to the Caribbean Sea and only five minutes to Punta Gorda, a quiet coastal town known for its markets, ferries to Guatemala, and eco-tourism vibe. Belize is English-speaking, culturally diverse, and famous for its barrier reef and laid-back Caribbean lifestyle.
US
For USD $47,499 (about CAD $65,000), you can get a 2-bedroom, 2-bath manufactured home in the Valleybrook community of Indianapolis. Built in 1989, this double-wide offers 1,344 square feet of living space and has been recently updated.
The Valleybrook community comes with perks like two swimming pools, a playground, a basketball court, and RV storage. It is close to I-465 and I-70, making it easy to commute around the city while still being in a quiet neighborhood.
Homes in the Midwest are far more affordable than on the coasts because land is plentiful and demand is lower. That means your money buys a lot more space and amenities compared to most other parts of the United States.
Thailand
For CAD $82,000 (original price THB 2,190,000), you can buy a 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo at Punna Oasis Residence in Chiang Mai. The 8th-floor unit offers 44 square meters of fully furnished living space with views and a move-in ready setup.
The residence includes a swimming pool, gym, landscaped grounds, and 24-hour security. It is in the Wat Ket area near the Superhighway, putting you just minutes from local markets, cafés, and the Old City.
Chiang Mai is far more affordable than Bangkok or North American cities. For less than the cost of a basic condo in Canada, you can own a stylish home base in Thailand’s cultural capital, surrounded by mountains, history, and a laid-back lifestyle.
For THB 2,600,000 (about CAD $97,000), you can buy a 48-square-meter studio at View Talay 5C in Jomtien. The condo is fully renovated with a European kitchen, furnished living space, modern bathroom, and a balcony with a slight sea view.
The building offers direct access to Dong Tarn Beach plus a pool, restaurants, mini-mart, laundry, parking, and 24-hour security. Pattaya is known for its beach lifestyle and affordability, making this a budget-friendly way to own property by the sea.

France
For €60,000 (about CAD $88,000), you can buy an 8-bedroom, 6-bath former hotel in the village of Cuzion, Centre-Val de Loire. The property has 251 m² of living space, including a dining room, sitting room, kitchen, multiple bedrooms, and even a separate apartment.
It comes with a courtyard and is connected to mains services. The building has been a hotel and B&B in the past, making it ideal for someone who wants to run a guesthouse or simply have space for a large family. With some renovation, it has serious potential at a very low entry price.
Mexico
For USD $55,000 (about CAD $76,000), you can buy a 2-bedroom, 1-bath condo in the Ecoterra community of Puerto Vallarta. The unit is 477 square feet, built in 2022, and located on the third floor.
Ecoterra offers controlled security, a pool, kids’ pool, palapa, and landscaped green spaces. The area is family-friendly, with schools, shops, plazas, and public transport nearby.
Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s most popular coastal cities, known for its beaches and vibrant expat community.

Japan
For ¥8,900,000 (about CAD $81,000), you can buy a 3DK, two-story house in Yao, just outside Osaka. Built in 1973 and recently renovated, it offers 47 square meters of living space with a new kitchen, bathroom, and air conditioning.
The property is an 11-minute walk from Kyuhouji Station, which connects you to Shin-Osaka, Namba, Umeda, and Tennoji. Shops and supermarkets are nearby, making it convenient for daily life.
Japan’s property market outside major hubs like Tokyo remains surprisingly affordable.
Philippines
For ₱4,393,670 (about CAD $105,000), you can buy a pre-selling 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo in a new township project in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. The unit is tiny at only 30 square meters and comes with modern building features like keycard elevators, CCTV, and fire safety systems.
The community offers impressive amenities, including a swimming pool, gym, jogging trail, meditation garden, clubhouse, grilling stations, and children’s playground. Commercial areas and transport links are nearby, making it convenient for both residents and investors.
Cebu is one of the fastest-growing hubs in the Philippines, known for its beaches, dive spots, and strong economy.
Egypt
For €19,000 (about CAD $28,000), you can buy a 46 m² one-bedroom apartment in Sharm el-Sheikh. The unit is in a new building, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a balcony. It also comes with property management options and the possibility of installment payments.
The apartment is located at the seaside, giving you quick access to the Red Sea and everything Sharm is known for — beaches, diving, and a year-round resort lifestyle. At under CAD $30K, it’s one of the cheapest ways to own property in a global beach destination.
Columbia
So in Medellín, over in San Antonio de Prado, there’s this spot listed for about $72K USD. It’s a full house, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, already furnished, and around 78 square meters inside. It looks quite nice.
San Antonio de Prado is one of those hillside suburbs — quieter and greener than the city center, with more of a local neighborhood vibe. You’re not in the middle of nightlife or El Poblado cafés here, but you’ve got space, a slower pace, and way more house for your money. It’s the kind of place that works if you don’t mind being a little outside the main action.
Costa Rica
So in Jacó, Costa Rica, there’s this little house going for about $85,000 USD. It’s not huge — around 60 square meters, so about 642 square feet — but it actually fits 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms into that space. Built in 2008, comes furnished, and even has air conditioning. The property itself is compact, but it’s part of a community setup where you get access to a shared pool.
Jacó’s a beach town on the Pacific side, known for surfing, nightlife, and being one of the most developed coastal spots in Costa Rica. So you’ve got shops, restaurants, and plenty going on nearby.
Indonesia (Lombok)
For USD $97,000 (about CAD $133,000), you can buy a boutique 1-bedroom, 1-bath villa in Kuta, Lombok. Each villa is two floors with about 85 square meters of living space, a private pool, and a terrace.
The project has only four villas in total, giving it an exclusive, low-density feel. It’s located just five minutes from Kuta Beach, eight minutes from the Mandalika MotoGP circuit, and about 20 minutes from Lombok International Airport. Restaurants, gyms, yoga studios, and natural attractions like waterfalls and hiking trails are all close by.
While this particular listing is leasehold, it’s worth noting that Lombok has plenty of freehold houses and condos and simple beachside homes available for under USD $100K. This one just highlights what a modern, stylish villa project looks like in the area.
This matters because in Canada, $100K might not even cover a down payment, but overseas it can unlock entire homes, investment opportunities, and lifestyle upgrades you never thought possible.
